The coronavirus has led to MANY book purchases, but this small stack of recent acquisitions looks totally reasonable. I’m looking forward to the Rancho Gordo cookbook, especially now that I have an instant pot for easy bean-cooking. I bought it from Native Seeds/SEARCH.

Dear Haiti, Love Alaine looks like a perfect summer-fun read about a Haitian-American teen’s summer in Haiti, and I’m looking to read more books about and set in Caribbean countries after reading The Spice Necklace by Ann Vanderhoof. The Mystery of the Lost Cezanne is the last book in the Verlaque and Bonnet series that I haven’t read, and I’m so sad. I might save it to read later. Although I’m trying to buy mostly from independent bookstores, these two did come from Amazon.
